1105 Media's Enterprise Computing Group Partners with Tianji Media Group; Licensing Deal Expands Global Content Reach into China
Irvine, Calif./Beijing CHINA. March 13, 2009 -- 1105 Media Inc.'s Enterprise Computing Group (ECG) has entered into a content-licensing agreement with Tianji Media Group (TMG), the largest digital media group in China. TMG publishes six major IT Web sites driving an aggregate 80 million page views and 34.3 million unique visitors per month.
The deal will grant TMG broad access to content from 1105 ECG's wide array of publishing assets in core content areas of virtualization, Microsoft Windows platform development, Cisco Systems networking technology and data center and mainframe computing.
"This is a fantastic opportunity for us to expand our brands and content into the dynamic and fast-growing Chinese market," commented Henry Allain, president of 1105 ECG. "TMG's CEO Mr. Li Zhigao and his team are terrific partners and have built an astounding IT media business in China with staggering Web traffic. We feel fortunate to be able to partner with such a well-respected and robust company."
Research firm IDC currently estimates that China's information, computer and telecommunications market will grow 6.7 percent in 2009 to nearly $70 billion, making it one of the world's most vibrant international markets for IT. There are currently more than 1.3 million IT developers in China who are hungry for new information about the latest developments in U.S. and European IT technology.
"To serve our audience and satisfy demand for high-quality technical information, Chinese IT online media have to be able to provide comprehensive and professional content from both inside and outside the country," said TMG's CEO Li Zhigao. "1105 Enterprise Computing Group is a very good partner for TMG because of the quality of its content and the group's sharp understanding of the markets it serves. I believe our relationship with them will significantly broaden the international appeal of our two primary business-to-business sites, ChinaByte.com and CTOCIO.com.cn and also strengthen TMG's position as a leader in Chinese IT business media."
This is the second licensing deal by 1105 ECG in recent months. In November 2008, 1105 ECG signed a licensing agreement for Europe with Paris-based IT Media.
